You may stay in a convent, in a hotel, or in Ingrid’s beautiful apartment – according to your arrangements with Ingrid. All rooms have their own bathroom. Most of the accommodations have beautiful views, a terrace or balcony, allowing you to see the breathtaking panorama of Assisi and its surroundings.

Walks and visits to holy places: Visit Saint Francis‘ birth place. See San Damiano, the convent, where Christ spoke through the cross to Saint Francis. There Saint Clare and the poor sisters lived in poverty and constant prayer. Experience the internationally famous Basilica where Saint Francis is entombed. Pilgrimage to the Porziuncola in the town of Saint Maria of the Angels to meditate in the place where Saint Francis and his companions congregated. Listen to the prayers and songs of the Clarisse sisters in the Basilica of Saint Clare.

Pilgrimages to the mystical sites of La Verna or Greccio. La Verna is the mountain where Saint Francis achieved the fulfillment of his longing to unite himself with Christ totally in His pain and joy. A little chapel was built over the place where he received the stigmata. In the Sanctuary of Greccio, we remember the “Franciscan Bethlehem.” The cave high in the mountains, speaks of the time, where 800 years ago Saint Francis celebrated the birth of Christ with peasants and animals, and so the tradition of the Christmas nativity started.

Share bread and cheese, fruit and juice on the grass among the olive trees. Overlook the Umbrian valley with the surrounding hills. Hear songbirds while we relax on the hill of Assisi.

Frolic and meditate in the meadows at the top of the holy Mount Subasio. Sounds of church bells are carried daily far over the outstretched valley with its countless olive and cypress trees. Feel the peace and merge in the vastness of the endless sky.

Meditate in the same forest caves where Saint Francis and his companions withdrew in seclusion and silence. Walk the sylvan paths from grotto to grotto. Century upon century, pilgrims have come here to pray and meditate in this peaceful nature. The paths from the caves connect to the beautiful hermitage, “Eremo delle Carceri,” hanging on the mountain cliffs. Saint Bernadino of Sienna constructed the monastery to preserve the holy cave of Saint Francis for future generations.

Free time. Discover the beauty of ancient Assisi with its charming narrow cobblestone streets, archways, and hidden gardens. Browse the many quaint shops, bakeries, and cafes with unique Italian delicacies. Enjoy the famous evening “Light of Umbria” that spreads its golden colors upon trees, churches, the city and the rolling hills.

"I will do everything to make your time in Assisi unforgettable for you." Ingrid
